Home Alone

Words and Music by Alan Harkrader

About the Song:

There is a blues player named Tom Daily that not only sings and plays the blues, but sometimes he lives the blues. Tom said the opening line to me one time when he was having a bluesy moment. I thought it was worthy of a song. I did help him through his crisis.

Lyrics:

I'm home alone and I'm in bad company
I'm home alone and I don't want to be
Down to the bone is where you're hurting me

So late at night I'm lost and terrified
Here in my house I can't be satisfied
The emptiness has filled me all inside

If you think that this is just a game to me
I love you more than life now that's a problem for me
Don't take it lightly don't brush it off while I'm like this
you can save a man today with just one kiss

Where can I go to find some sanity
Where can I go, your memory's always haunting me
No matter where I go I just can't get away from me

I'm home alone
